Fake business gurus: the (fake) success stories

In previous posts, I extensively addressed the dangers of fake business gurus and their online products. But what with their students' success stories? People that took those courses and made it.

I see two possibilities.

Either the testimonials are fake, just like the gurus are. I learned that testimonials are for sale, just like almost everything else in the online universe. You can buy testimonials, clicks on your website, subscribers, followers, it is impressive.

But, there are a limited amount of people who purchased the course and succeeded. What's the story here?
Well, compare it with getting sick, taking a placebo, and heal. That person was going to get better and heal, placebo medication, or not. His of her immune system was going to beat the bug without any medication. The same goes for a youngster taking an inferior online seminar. That talented person was going to succeed in business, whether he had taken it or not. Such people succeed despite the online course.
