4 key virtues for starters

Starting your own business involves taking a risk. You are about to invest time and money in a venture you are not sure will be successful.

Apart from your know-how and your expertise, mindset and virtues play a significant part.
I think you should start with a good amount of excitement and enthusiasm, that is pretty obvious. Some people say that you need to be passionate before you can begin. I am not going that far. I think it is very well possible to start a business with more neutral feelings. If you see an opportunity in the cleaning business, then I can imagine that you jump on that train without having a genuine passion for cleaning. But know this; if your competitor does have a passion for cleaning, he might put in more work. Someone passionate is a dangerous competitor. The time you spend on hobbies or playing sports, your competitor is learning, reading, living his business.

A second important virtue is patience. Starting, getting your name out, finding clients will probably take time. Keep at it, keep working, stay focused, and be patient.

Three-Tenacity and four-resilience go hand in hand. Things will not entirely go according to your business plan. You will have to adapt, adjust, try again, and again. And all this probably without pay. Expect to be working hundreds of hours without being rewarded instantly.
Nobody sais starting a successful business is easy. But believe me, if you hold on, you push through, and it works, you will reap the rewards!
